Welcome!

Welcome to Ket'acik & Aapalluk Memorial School in Kwethluk. We are located up river from Bethel about 10-15 miles. Our community is divided into Russian Orthodox and Moravian. According to the 2010 US Census our population was 721.

Our school of approximately 250 students is served by about 50 staff members. This includes classified and certified Native and non-Native teachers. Our mascot is carayiit (bears). Our community loves subsistence living, dog mushing, and basketball.

Parents, community members, and educators of Ket’acik Aapalluk Memorial School are dedicated to the belief that all children are able to learn and will be educated to reach their full potential.

The academic and extracurricular programs will include the values of traditional Yupik culture with rigorous and relevant curriculum to allow them the opportunity to succeed as productive members of society.
